Fees & Rebates

Although the recommended fee by the Australian Psychological Society for a 50 minute session is $241, at Psychology HeadQuarters we offer no gap (bulk billing) if you are eligible for Medicare rebate.

Medicare – Mental Health Care Plan

A GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician can refer a patient to a psychologist under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Treatment Plan. The client can have up to 10 individual counselling sessions and 10 Group counselling sessions each calendar year under this plan. We are a bulk-billed service, meaning the medicare rebate is applied to cover 100% of your eligible sessions.

Insurance – Work Cover Registered

People who have been involved in Workplace incident with a psychological impact can be referred for psychological treatment sessions to help the client deal with the issue to help in the process of returning to work. Sessions are funded through the workplace insurance company.

Private Consultations

Services can be provided for people who do not wish to be referred through a GP or other services. No Medicare rebate is available for clients who are not referred through another service, however a rebate is available through many Private Health Funds, depending on your level of cover. A standard consultation ranges from $100 – $150.00 for individuals. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS (depending on location).

Cancellation Penalty

It is difficult to keep our fees affordable, so 24 hours notice of appointment cancellation is required to avoid penalties.
